Welcome to MaharGuitar

Videos by Michael Neverisky playing some of my Guitars.

Michael Neverisky is a friend and an inspired musician. Whenever I finish up a new instrument, I call Mike and he makes a video playing it. He's a better guitarist than I am and can really show off the new guitar. Here are a few YouTube links so you can see him and my guitars in action.

#3 OM

This is one of my earlier guitars. It is an OM style with mahogany back and sides with a redwood top.

#5 OM

This is another OM style guitar with a redwood top. The back and sides are Indian rosewood. This is my first Manzer1 Wedge.

#10 Small Jumbo

This is a small jumbo. Note the rounded lower bout. It is made of unusual woods. The back and sides are black locust and the top is Alaskan yellow cedar. This and all subsequent guitars are all Manzer Wedges. The wedge makes for a much more comfortable guitar.

#11 Small Jumbo & #12 OM

These two guitars were made together out of the same woods. The New England Luthiers2 had a group build where we all made guitars out of domestic woods. These two guitars are made from black walnut back and sides with Engleman spruce tops. The necks are also made of walnut. The fret board is made from synthetic material marketed under the name Micarta as well as others. You can see it in knife handles.

1The Manzer Wedge

Almost all of my guitars feature the Manzer Wedge. This idea was fully realized by Linda Manzer. Linda is one of the all-time great builders. See her website for details. http://www.manzer.com

New England Luthiers

I am a founding member of New England Luthiers. This is an organization of musical instrument builders that meets regularly to share ideas building techniques.  We have a regular concert in the Fall where our instruments can be seen and heard. http://www.newenglandluthiers.org
